This Cookie Policy explains how Resume Gear ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies — such as browser local storage — on our website and web portals at resumegears.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies include browser local storage, which lets a website store small amounts of data in your browser. In this policy, "cookies" refers to both unless stated otherwise.
Our Approach in Short
- Outside the United States and India, the Resume Gear website sets no cookies of its own unless you accept them.
- We use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used, and Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors move through our pages (heatmaps and session recordings). In the United States and India both are on by default and you can switch them off at any time. Everywhere else they run only if you accept them in the cookie notice: until then Google Analytics runs with storage switched off and writes nothing to your device, and Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all.
- We do not use advertising, retargeting, or social media cookies anywhere. Microsoft Clarity can set a small number of Microsoft cookies on Microsoft's own domains (listed below); we tell Clarity that advertising storage is denied.
- We use two items of browser local storage: one to keep recruiters signed in to the Recruiter Portal, and one to remember your cookie choice — plus one item of session storage that remembers your country for the current visit, so we know whether to show the cookie notice.
- Our payment provider, Stripe, sets its own cookies during checkout for security and fraud prevention.
Analytics cookies are not strictly necessary. Outside the United States and India we ask before setting them: a short cookie notice appears on your first visit with an Accept and a Decline option. Choose Decline, or ignore it, and no analytics cookie or identifier is stored and no session is recorded. Visitors in the United States and India do not see the notice; analytics is on by default for them, and they can opt out at any time from the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. We work out which applies from your IP address. Anyone can change their choice at any time — see How to Manage Cookies and Local Storage below.
Storage We Set (First Party)
The acceptance of our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service before downloading the app is held only in page memory for your current visit — it is not stored in a cookie or local storage.
Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics)
If you are in the United States or India, or you accept in the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use this website — which pages are viewed, which links are clicked, and where the visit came from (for example a search engine). We use it to improve the site. Google Analytics advertising and personalisation features are switched off: we do not build advertising profiles, do not run retargeting, and do not share this data with advertisers.
Outside the United States and India these cookies are written only after you accept. In the United States and India they are written by default unless you opt out through Cookie settings. If you decline, opt out, or (outside the United States and India) ignore the notice, Google Analytics stays in its consent-denied state: no cookie is set and no identifier is stored on your device. In that state Google still receives a basic, cookieless request containing your IP address and the page address, which lets us count the visit without recognising you — the same information your browser sends when it loads any other resource from a third party. Google acts as our service provider for this data; see Google's privacy information.
Session Recording and Heatmaps (Microsoft Clarity)
If you are in the United States or India, or you accept in the cookie notice, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our pages — where they click, how far they scroll, and where they get stuck. Clarity records your mouse movements, clicks, scrolling and the pages you view, and lets us replay a visit as a recording and combine many visits into heatmaps. Anything you type into a form (such as your email address) is hidden from the recording, and the Stripe payment form is never recorded because it runs on Stripe's own site. We use Clarity only to improve this website. We tell Clarity that advertising storage is denied, and Microsoft acts as our service provider for this data; see Microsoft's privacy statement.
Outside the United States and India, Clarity is not loaded at all unless you
accept. If you decline or opt out after it has run, we tell Clarity to stop and to erase its
cookies from your browser. Clarity may also have set cookies on Microsoft's own domains (for
example MUID); this site cannot remove those, but you can clear them in your
browser settings.
Third-Party Cookies (Stripe Payments)
When you purchase credits, payment is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe sets its own cookies to process the payment securely and to detect and prevent fraud — for example:

Other Third-Party Content
Our pages load the Poppins font from Google Fonts. The Google Fonts service does not set cookies, but your browser sends your IP address to Google's servers as part of requesting the font files. See Google Fonts privacy information.
Our home page also displays company logos loaded from Clearbit's logo service
(logo.clearbit.com). Like the font files above, these images are requested directly
by your browser, so your IP address is sent to Clearbit's servers as part of that request. The
service does not set cookies and we do not send it any information about you beyond the request
itself. If a logo is unavailable, the company name is shown as text instead.
The Desktop Application
The Resume Gear desktop application stores your resume information and settings locally on your own device as application data, not as website cookies. How that information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
How to Manage Cookies and Local Storage
To change your analytics choice on this site, use the Cookie settings link at
the bottom of any page, which opens the cookie notice so you can choose Accept or Decline. You
can also use the button below. It clears your stored
choice so the cookie notice appears again, switches Google Analytics back to its
consent-denied state and deletes its _ga cookies, and stops Microsoft Clarity and erases its cookies, straight away.
Your choice has been cleared — the notice will appear again.
You can control, delete, or block cookies and site data through your browser settings — look for "Cookies and site data" or "Privacy" in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. Please note:
- Clearing site data for resumegears.com signs you out of the Recruiter Portal; you can sign back in with a new email verification code.
- Blocking Stripe's cookies may prevent checkout from completing, as they are required for secure payment.
- Clearing site data also clears your analytics choice, so the cookie notice will appear again on your next visit.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, if we add new features that use cookies. The updated version will be posted with a revised Effective Date.
